  • I guess it is okay to be listed, but the whole 'color of infinity inside an empty glass' explaination seems lacking. I mean, it says "if the color of infinity was inside the glass, then the glass would not be empty," but seems to me that the fact it is an empty glass describes what the color of infinity could possibly be. In anycase, these sort of statements are one of the things I love TMBG for. Totally thought provoking and wonderful. Jeshii 23:30, 12 Apr 2005 (EDT)

I don't want to edit the page, because I'm not sure if I'm just being picky or not, but it seems to me that "I am not allowed to think" is not a contradiction at all of the title "I Should be Allowed to Think". After all, isn't that what the word "should" is about? I should be allowed to think, but I'm not. It's not really a contradiction, it's more like "I wish I could but I can't".

It's more like "I wish I could but I can't wish." The statement itself is a thought, but not being allowed to think contradicts that in some loopy confusing-the-mind thing, kinda like the stated belief, "People should get beat up for stating their beliefs."
Also, I'm kind of confused with Hopeless Bleak Despair being oxymoronic/paradoxical/contradictory. A reason given is that Linnell can't say he's died if he's still alive and writing the song, but like many (most?) TMBG songs, the narrator is usually not named John and could be dead if Linnell wanted to make him. There's also a little bit about him usually going to heaven and despair going to hell when he died, and since (I admit) I'm not very knowledgable in afterlife affairs, I'll hesitate to take this off the page. ~ magbatz 20:44, 25 Apr 2006 (CDT)

I have removed Hopeless Bleak Despair from both places as in now way is it a oxymoronic/paradoxical/contradictory. Songs are not, and very rarely are, nonfiction. ~ AnklePants

I don't think Cage And Aquarium is contradictory. It says that your best ideas are ideas that you stole, and now they're being stolen back.

In Sensurround, it's "made the fakeness realistic", not "made the fakeness real", so I wouldn't think that it's a contradiction, paradox, or oxymoron. The fakeness is made so it seems real, not so it is. Right? -curious and questioning (t) 01:16, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not going to mince words, this is one of the worst wiki articles I've ever seen. It's colloquial, un-encyclopedic, and its logic is flawed. It attempts to be cutesy and list simple non-truths as Paradoxes.

Hotel Detective (future) - Cutesy

Cowtown - Just false, not a paradox
Happy - Flawed Logic
I Can't... - My argument is made ON THE PAGE
Ana Ng - Nothing is actually mentioned that's paradoxical
Birdhouse - What is paradoxical about "filibuster diligently"?
Cage & Aqua - wrong for logic above
D is 4 - A thinking cap only assists thinking, it doesn't predicate it
The Day - Not a paradox at all
Fibber Island - He's fibbing, not contradicting
Fun Assassin - while redundant, not the scope of this page
Allowed to Think - However, a government agent can be criminal
On the Drag - Again with a redundancy
Sensurround - however ONLY fakeness can be realistic
Shoehorn - He can't believe that he should be beat up as well?
Sleeping - Since it's usual, it's not inherently contradictory
Where your eyes - Wait, what? I dream every night without 'discovering' or remembering it
Brainwashing - [Attention: English Major-type Talk] Brainwashing is in the present progressive tense, which means that at time of brainwashing, they're still Fighting Boys
I never go to work - even in the cutesy explanation, it's just false, not contradictory
Birthday - Provide all instances of it being played on June 12, and I would love to keep them.
Particle Man - Even if it's the former meaning, he's a superhero, he can do whatever he wants
Village Gate - Just because it's wrong, doesn't mean it's a contradiction
Weep Day - Ditto.
