  • The ad, created for Diet Dr Pepper, is a take-off on the old CHiPs TV show with chimpanzees on the bikes instead of cops, and original CHiP Erik Estrada the one being pulled over.
  • Some animal rights activists were angry about the "abuse" of the chimps in this commercial.
  • The ad won 'best of the month' award by the industry rag AdWeek in Feb 2002; the band is credited.
