Talk:Dial-A-Song: 20 Years Of They Might Be Giants

From This Might Be A Wiki

4-5-2003:Again, I don't have this album, so i'm wondering if someone can help me out with the Fingertips track on disc 2. Anyone know what version this is? -- duke33

6/24/03: As far as I know, it's the original Apollo 18 version fused together into one track. -Rincewind

10/18/04: I am listening to the James K. Polk version on this CD and the one on Factory Showroom, and while the instrumentals seem the same, the vocals are distinctly different. I'm pretty sure they're both Linnell, but for the Dial-A-Song version, his voice is higher pitched and it altogether sounds different. Not just in the pitch, but the pauses and what not. -burnsmellfactory

5/30/05 - Burns - James_K._Polk_(Dial-A-Song_Anthology_Version)

It also seems like Cyclops Rock has a sound effect a second or two at the end of the song that isn't in the Mink Car version.

-- That's because the Mink Car version fades that part out. D-A-S keeps that sound effect. Ecks

Grrr... with the different versions of Polk and Cyclops, if I do not have this album I am missing out on some songs... (Turnip) 17:07, 7 Mar 2006 (CST)

Does anyone know whose finger that is? -bubs

How dumb am I? I saw you said that and started looking for a finger on the discussion page. --Dunklekuh81

[edit] Tracks

So who REALLY picked the songs for this. Was it the label, or the band?

I'm guessing the label picked the ones on the first disc, and the band picked out the ones on the second one. --ZippZapp 01:45, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lack of Insert

When I got my album it didn't come with the paper insert. Am I going to have to go get an entirely new album, or is there a way I can get the booklet sent to me? --ArAn 10:11, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

I'd complain to whoever sold it to you that you didn't receive all of what you bought. I don't know if that complaint will work, but if you provide proof or just whine enough, it might. Because the booklet's really the best part of it-- an essay or two, cool pictures, and of course the lyrics. ~ magbatz 18:01, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
