Talk:My Man

From This Might Be A Wiki

The song about disability only really works as a lyric. It's quite clever. The melody however is forced, which is rare for Linnell! As such the song seems over long and overstays its welcome. (mr Tuck)

Having just thought about this song again, I think it's as much overproduced. I'd like to hear a more spartan arrangement with an accordion lead. (Mr Tuck)

The "When something happens to drag on the floor..." part always reminds me of "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service. I wonder why... --Ehsteve14 07:01, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I say there's a resemblance. The rhythm of the melodys different but the sequence of notes is almost a match.

Key Change[edit]

This is one of my favorite TMBG songs and i don't think it overstays it's welcome at all. sometimes i get the part where the key changes stuck in my head and end up singing around in cricles getting a key higher every time until i'm singing really really high.(caesar)

I think it's beautiful, melody and all.[edit]

I can relate to this song in a very real way. I have Multiple Sclerosis[1] -- this piece nearly perfectly describes its symptoms. While it may not be for everyone, I'm very thankful that it was written. --RonAmoriM 20:29, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

That's really touching, to the person above me. I'm sure the Johns are glad their music connects with people like that.
