Arto Lindsay
Arthur Morgan "Arto" Lindsay is an American musician and producer. In 1977, he co-founded the no wave band DNA, which has been referred to as "one of the premier outfits of the No-Wave scene."[2] The band also featured former Pere Ubu bassist Tim Wright, and early on would frequently perform at CBGB. Lindsay has also performed with the similarly avant-garde band, The Lounge Lizards.
On They Might Be Giants' Flood, he played an electric guitar solo in the song "Hearing Aid." He also opened up for Mono Puff's final show featuring several other Bar/None artists. Pat Dillett has been credited as a producer on many of Lindsay's albums[3] and Lindsay himself has produced for David Byrne.[4]
Arto is cousins with Dave Lindsay, who was in the pre-TMBG trio with John Flansburgh and John Linnell called the Brave New Whales. Both Arto and Dave Lindsay are mentioned in Flansburgh and Bill Krauss's zine Art in Context.
