Charlie Sepulveda

Charlie Sepulveda is a Latin-jazz musician and trumpeter who played trumpet on the album Flood in "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" and "Your Racist Friend." "To the Johns’ lasting regret," his name was misspelled in the liner notes as "Spalvida." He is best known as a sideman to the jazz great Dizzy Gillespie.[1]

Sepulveda got his start in NYC after graduating from New York City College. In addition to his work with Gillespie, Sepulveda has also recorded with the likes of Paul Simon, Steve Turre, and Wynton Marsalis. He has also won a Latin Grammy for his recording with Jon Secada in 2017.[2]
