Fan Recaps and Comments:
Loser's Lounge "Hi-Lites" show featuring standout performances from past Loser's Lounge events. This show was recorded and later released as the album Simply Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad About The Loser's Lounge.
They Might Be Giants were among the many acts who performed. They covered "Butcher's Tale (Western Front 1914)" from The Zombies' 1968 album Odessey and Oracle, a repeat of their performance at the Loser's Lounge tribute to The Zombies the previous year. John Flansburgh and John Linnell played the song as a duo, walking through the audience as they performed. Linnell played the accordion while Flansburgh, without a microphone, shouted the song. He carried a large tape recorder with the lyrics taped to it,[1] although the words he sang differed significantly from the song's original lyrics.
