Talk:I Am A Human Head

From This Might Be A Wiki

Okay. Hopefully this won't turn out like the "Daddy Sang Bass" thread...but this really sounds to me like Linnell is singing, not Flansburgh. The lyrics to me seem to be more Linnell-esque as well...but correct me if I'm wrong - Stiddy

-I'm 99.9% positive that it's Linnell. Or it's Flansburgh doing the best John Linnell impression in history. -JRSly

--Though if anyone were to nail a Linnell impression, it'd be Flans. - RichardAshkenazi

Someone put it was Flans singing this? wtf? It's definitely Linnell. - FrankEinstein

Wow, this was once billed as a Flansburgh song? It's definitely Linnell!

I thought it sounded like Flansburgh and was surprised it said Linnell here. Shrug! (does anyone still read these things?) --Mandaliet 06:20, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Dude what what. IT'S SO TOTALLY LINNELL IT NEVER EVEN OCCURRED TO ME TO WONDER IF IT WASN'T. --Self Called Nowhere 07:12, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
It sounds like...a sort of...uh...altered Flansy. Because he does do that gasp-y thing. But it's too nasally. Then again, I don't have the best judgement. I thought Whistling In The Dark was Flansy.
Know what would be great? If it was actually both of them doing uncanny impressions of each other, alternating at various points in the song just to confuse people. ~ blitzente (talk) 16:02, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Anyone else think that the choruses of this song sound like something Phish would do? (That's not a bad thing; I like Phish, especially their instrumental songs.) - RichardAshkenazi

OK. This might be a glitch. My computer says that this was the edit that created the page but the summary says "*changed singing credit to Linnell, as it seems to be the general consensus". -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")

I think it has to do with the way the wiki was set up before and after some big change, in other words, the history tab wasn't always existent/the way it is now, so that was the first edit to the page after this history format came into use. The first change to the page that the wiki recorded. This is vague because I'm just guessing. -Apollo 20:42, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

so I've got a really strange version of this song in french ("je suis une tete humaine") and it's people other than the Johns singing it and I don't know where it came from or why I have it or who put this together, but it's very strange but kinda cool but still confusing

Drums[edit]

This has to be Dan Hickey, since it comes from the No! sessions. The guitarwork from Miller and Weinkapf is awesome from start to finish, but the drums - WOW! the whole song is elevated by Hickey's performance. The endcap lead + bass guitars and drums power the song forward and higher until it achieves a triumphantly satisfying conclusion. --Nehushtan (talk) 09:39, 8 January 2020 (EST)
