For a better quality version of the 2025-09-27 show watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyOX9pvkVfo looks better than the one on the show page. I rotated this video that someone else took. And mine has chapters. I was busy with a birthday party for my little one so I couldn't record the whole thing. I did get authenticity trip on and that's even better quality since I took the cap too. Here's that one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRs7fVXYT1Y

Hi, I'm Raven[edit]

My pronouns are: they / them / he / him / e / em / eirs

They Might Be Giants has been my favourite band since 1988. I first heard them whilst riding in the car as a child. My mom had the pink album and Lincoln on tape. Later she also got Flood. The first CD I bought was the pink album. I was born in California then I was forced to move to Dallas Texas in 1993. In 2010 I moved to Portland Oregon. Now I'm just south of there in the capital city of Salem. Which just happens to be exactly 813 miles from Salt Lake City Utah.

Alas, in all those years I have only been able to attend 27 shows. This year I went all out and drove around 3000 miles round trip to see them 12 times in 4 different cities. It cost a LOT in gas. I'll write about it here sometime later. One day I wish to move to Brooklyn or somewhere they play more than 1-3 shows every 2-5 years so I can go to more shows.

Find me on discord as raven_xxy "'King Weed'". I'm always online, often afk.

I made a spreadsheet listing all the TMBG shows by their calendar date so you can see if they played on a particular date! The wiki finally did a similar thing but you can only see the date that is currently the one you are existing within (as far as I can tell).

Feb 21, 1986 - Danceteria, New York, NY
Feb 21, 1987 - Performance Space 122, New York, NY (John Flansburgh)
Feb 21, 1990 - Odeon, Munich, Germany
Feb 21, 1995 - The Record Exchange, Winston-Salem, NC
Feb 21, 1995 - Ziggy's, Winston-Salem, NC
Feb 21, 1997 - Irving Plaza, New York, NY
Feb 21, 2005 - Borders, Braintree, MA
Feb 21, 2019 - The Triffid, Brisbane, Australia

4K/60FPS videos of entire concerts (split up into songs including banter).

I just updated the wiki tagline to:[edit]

I was working all night on the wiki when a page I had recently changed flashed a note to my phone in my pocket so I looked at the window at it, it had the same obsequious error that was the reason I had it changed, so to calm my nerves I changed the text in it, over the phone. (I don't know if this is kept anywhere so I'll put it here now so I don't forget:) -Raven (talk) 19:05, 30 June 2025 (EDT) (~1600 20250630)

Interesting (to me) Facts:[edit]

  1. Eight Hundred and Thirteen Mile Car Trip: 813 miles is the exact distance from my house in Salem, Oregon to Salt Lake City Utah!
  2. William Henry Harrison, my favourite american president was born February 9th, 1773, (my birthday too, different year though) and died interestingly exactly 30 days from his inauguration, on April 4th, 1841.
  3. William Allen White was born February 10, 1868 (and less interestingly, died January 29, 1944).

Here's a list of live songs I really like, added randomly as I listen to them: https://tmbw.net/wiki/Shows/2000-04-14 Cowtown

My Physical TMBG Collection[edit]

The following is not actually complete since adding them here and there and everywhere is difficult. I have all of them listed on my discogs though. (I think...?)
