Talk:TMBG Download Store

From This Might Be A Wiki

7-jul-2004:What's the bitrate of the MP3s for sale at the download store? --SR

They're 256kbps LAME encoded MP3s. I think it says that somewhere on the site. - FrankEinstein

Why isn't Springville, UT on there? I went to the show, and would like to hear it again, but that's the one show from the 2005 tour that they didn't include. If anyone has a bootleg of it, I would like to get it. If you do, send it to bryparry@yahoo.com put 'tmbg' in the subject. I really need this show!!! -216.126.208.4

Just out of curiosity, is there a wiki page for the main site store? -kfarnstein

I understand linking to the shows available, but do we really need a page for New Haven, CT September 22, 2004 and a separate one for Shows/2004-09-22? This page is also about a year out of date. --badqueso 10:15, 21 Mar 2006 (CST)

I think the justification is that one of the pages is about the album for that date, and the other is for the show itself (i.e., the actual event). In many cases the download albums have been edited and don't include every song that was actually played at the show, so I think it does make sense to have separate pages. — aliste
Then someone needs to get working on last year's shows up for download. --badqueso 20:46, 21 Mar 2006 (CST)
Added all the shows to the list. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 21:00, 21 Mar 2006 (CST)

Downloads are disabled[edit]

I tried to buy a show a few days ago, but I got an error at the check-out page:

"Sorry, but ordering downloads is disabled and will not be enabled again."

This was terrible, because I needed to hear the full version of The Guitar with the Biz Markie intro. I emailed the address on the shop page, tmbg@backofficemusic, and was told by an (anonymous) email-checker that "[he/she/it/cactus] guess the downloads will be back", but not through Back Office. The emailer said that TMBG will probably try to build their own download site, but he has no other information on it.

Should we make Drastic Changes to this page (and, logically, EVERY "DOWNLOAD:" PAGE ON THE WIKI), or should we email Dot first, or what? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I'VE NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS BEFORE.

So yeah, things. -j2

I've confirmed with the band's management that downloads will be back at some point...but don't know exactly when. So, for now, I guess we just leave them alone, until the new store is out there. --Duke33 00:48, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
So, I know that some of the shows are back up for download, but nowhere near as many as used to be up. Do we know if the rest of them will ever go back up? Because there are some shows that I've been waiting a long time to download that still aren't available . . . Drew 00:32, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
