Timothy Newman has toured with They Might Be Giants on numerous occasions throughout the mid-to-late 90's and 00's, playing Trombone and Bass Trombone. Timothy and Jim O'Connor occasionally "battle" musically on stage, in what is dubbed Battle 'O 'Im (named after the _im's in their names). Timothy was in the original lineup of Sapphire Bullets, playing the role of Justin.
